Nikkei Business Publications, Inc. is a publisher and content provider, delivering technology and management information through a media mix of magazines, books, websites, tradeshows, research, consulting, and seminars covers a wide range of fields, including management, personal computers, computers, telecommunications, machinery, construction, medical care/health, digital home appliances, entertainment, and lifestyle.

There are two types of magazines:
1) one is a magazine that is delivered directly to readers who made subscription contract (direct sales), and
2) the other is a commercially available magazine that readers can purchase at book shops and other stores.

Nikkei BP group as a whole publishes a total of 45 magazines and newsletters.
Among them, just 38 magazines published by Nikkei BP boast some 2 million readers in total, and the number of issues shipped throughout a year reaches some 9 million.

Nikkei BP articles are covered and written by 504 expert editors (among them, the number of technology-related editors is 329), and most of these magazines remain top sellers in each specific field. Moreover, we aggressively publish books sold at book shops and “mooks (magazine-cum-books)”.

For Internet business, Nikkei BP restructured the total information site “Nikkei BP Net”, a must-read website for business people.
In 2006, Nikkei BP launched such new websites as “Nikkei Business Online” for world business leaders in the Internet era, “Nikkei Personal Computing Online” for business PC users, and “Nikkei Medical Online” for doctors working in the front lines of clinical practice.

With these as well as the total information site for IT professionals “IT Pro” and the electronic information service for businesses “Nikkei BP BizBoard”, Nikkei BP currently run some 150 websites. The total page views of our websites exceed 80 million per month, and the total number of unique browsers is over 8 million, both of which are still rapidly increasing.

Notice of Magazine Size Change

Nikkei Business Publications will standardize the size of its major magazines in July 2011.

As most of our magazines are currently published in either of the two sizes, 280mm(H) x 210mm(W) for saddle stitched binding or 280mm(H) x 208mm(W) for perfect binding, they will be standardized into a uniform size of 280mm(H) x 210mm(W) from July on. This will enable shared use of ad materials between saddle-stitched magazines and perfect-bound magazines, and thereby reduce the advertisers’ burden in production costs and facilitate their ad-placing planning. With full-fledged spread of electronic magazines around the corner, the uniformed size will also simplify the process of magazine production suited to different kinds of devices.
